Day 7

Hello! Today is a pretty average Monday.  I don’t really have anything to review or give my opinion on, detox wise.  Tomorrow at work we are having a 21 Day Sugar Detox pitch-in!  So I made the curried beef lettuce wraps again.  I had them for dinner too; I couldn’t help it!   The highlight of my detox day was I found Boston lettuce.  They are small leaves that get even smaller as you peel, they end up being little baby cups that are by far the cutest a vegetable could possibly look. Definitely my new go-to for any sort of lettuce wrap recipe!

I figured I’d take this very bland day to tell you a little about myself.  I’m a twenty-something recent college graduate in my second year of 40-hour-week work life and if I have to choose three foods to take with me on a deserted island I pick chocolate chip cookies, nachos, and french fries.  I’m in need of this detox for obvious reasons, my sugar/carb addiction, and less obvious reasons via the internet, my weight.  Don’t get me wrong, I look good, but my clothes could fit better, and I could go for some less plus sizey clothes as well! The success I’ve had so far has made me want to push even harder toward my goals.  I’ve never been so determined to lose weight, I have Jaime to thank for that.  We both lean on each other for support and accountability.  A Biggest Loser competition at our work is what got our butts in gear last October, and we’ve used competition to drive us ever since.  Our current competition, which I mentioned before, is between friends and family, and is what is keeping me more motivated than ever.  Competing against co-workers is one thing, competing against your parents is like the Hunger Games, all puns intended.

I can’t wait to tell you how I do at my first weigh-in while totally on the detox.  Thursday can’t come soon enough! I never thought that I would look forward to weighing myself, but the more comfortable I am with myself the more I don’t care what people think about my weight.  I know what you’re thinking, “Go  get ’em girrrl!”  And yes,  I’m going to get ’em.  Drop them pounds and be a better me.

DETOX POWER

On to day 8.
